N. Georgia Mtns Off-grid Solar Install 1 of 3

This is video 1 of 3 of an off-grid installation we did up in the North Georgia Mountains. In this video, the installation starts from the *very* beginning: from assessing parts, to installing the control panel, charge controller, inverter and batteries. Then, we install the racking and most of the panels. For the rest of the installation, be sure to see videos 2 and 3 in this series.

The home is a passive solar house. It's roof line is sloped and the rear is close to the ground. (This is why wildlife is able to get on the roof - namely a family of bears that live near by.) You won't see the main house in these videos, only the roof and utility room b/c the construction of the home was in the process of being finished as we did the installation. Enjoy!

Later, we will be installing a wind turbine on this same property. Once this is complete, we'll post that video, too.
