its a hard drive problem in the zune. the saaame exact thing happened to me like 2 years ago and last year i took it to bestbuy to see what the geek squad could do. the people there told me that if nothing showed up on the computer when you plug it in, its a hard drive problem in the zune..i suggest you replace the battery or buy i new one ? :/ sorry about that it really sucks

same happen to me last year -_- I still have my Zune but I have an iPod!! and it happen because I plug it in on a PC from my school after that it just when black and never turn on again

I have the same issue and I'm betting at some point you fried it with a static charge from your fingers. Thats what happen to mine from treadmilling.

Hey man, My kid brother and I have the exact same Zune models as each other. His was doing the same as yours. Just to test, I opened them up and switched batteries and his battery would charge on my Zune, but his Zune would still not recognize being plugged in. I'm thinking it's the actual plug "port" that might be messed up them. Where you plug the charger in. For now I just switch my fully charged battery with his when he needs a full charge.

@Damiuss ok, um so, the zune software doesnt recognize the zune? On the zune forums, look for " devices wont connect to software"
