  • I can not define Civilisation, but I can recognize when I see it. Sir Kenneth Clark.

King and Queen attending, Mozart, Miah, the musicians, the audience, the girl behind Miah...

a magic moment of Civilisation, as impressing as the Requiem...

  • Unfortunately on medici.tv concert video and sound are not in synch. They are on YouTube. Medici has a problem which they need to fix.

  • I love it!!!!

  • Sir John is certainly one of the great musical intellects of our times

  • Yes, I think it does.

  • @MoaiMaea More or less...The conductor is supposed to guide the orchestra in realizing the composer's intentions from the score. Most of the work is done during the rehearsal phase and during the performance his job is basically keep all that hard work done in rehearsal together as things can go wrong during a performance. For an orchestra he is needed because there are so many moving parts and each section's perception is not accurate. This is just a basic answer. Hope it helps.

  • @MoaiMaea think of him as the brain, and the orchestra are the hands.

  • I think I will never understand the conductor’s importance for orchestras.

  • I Love It! It Is So Great.
