During March of 2010, the U.S. Forest Service cut down several dozen trees at the Rimrock overlook in the Allegheny National Forest in order to improve views of the Allegheny Reservoir & surrounding landscape from the site.

The trees that were cut down will not go to the mill or otherwise leave the site, but instead will be left as they lay in order to provide wildlife habitat, and to eventually return to the soil naturally as they decompose over time.
