Part 2 in the series.

This video explains the MOBOTIX Hemispheric video platform found within the MOBOTIX Q24 360˚ IP camera. The MOBOTIX hemispheric technology can capture a RAW 3-megapixel image stream and perform the image correction bypassing the need for an external PC with licensed video management software and image correction plug-in.

  • i am welling to buy 8 cams right away ,and i need to know if i can access the cam from my iphone , is there an application on iphone or just through browser ? , will i see the fisheye image or a normal one that i can view and control the angle as if it is motorized cam ? pls give me answers i have limited time . thanks

  • @faketongue2 hello - the Q24 corrects the fish eye internally so the video appears corrected (dewarped) in the browser. Within the browser on your phone, you can digitally pan and zoom. Two way communication is also possible between a phone and the camera's in built VoIP function. There are also plans for the release for an iPhone app, but I do not have an ETA on this.

  • If one of these cameras is deployed in an area that has motion at all times, approximately how much storage capacity would a customer need in order to have a retention time of 30 days at 15fps? Also, once video has filled storage capacity, does the software begin dumping older video?

  • @ShadowSecurityCCTV hello can you please post your question to our discussion forum at mxinstaller (dot) com so that our global community can assist you.

  • Hi petocomale

As pointed out at 02:30 ... if more storage is required the MOBOTIX in-camera-DVR platform allows for many options other than microSD, including direct recording to external HDD or NAS. Here are two cost examples if more storage is required:

Option A. 2TB dual SATA NAS costs around USD$320

Option B. 1TB ext. SATA HDD costs around USD$140

Both of these storage options are still way below the cost to deploy an NVR (dedicated PC with video management software) at each store.

  • i feel this is not all the story. NVR has a lot of the more storage than SD card - unfair comparison on cost!!!
