Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday, April 2, 2007.

Last night's Juno Awards featured singer Nelly Furtado as host. Canada's music awards also honored Furtado with 5 Awards...including the fan's choice award and artist of the year. The Dixie Chicks grabbed the International Album of the Year award. Billy Talent was named group of the year.

A new comedy about an ice-skating duo is a huge hit at the U.S. box offices. "Blades of Glory" starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder grabbed the number one spot in theaters in its first weekend out. The animated film "Meet the Robinsons" took number 2 followed by "300." That's all according to Box Office Mojo.

The 20th Annual Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards honored the best in film, TV and music...as picked by kids. Saturday's event recognized Justin Timberlake as the favorite male singer. Adam Sandler grabbed the most popular male movie star and Dakota Fanning took best female movie star. The Black Eyed Peas got the trophy for favorite music group. The winners were determined by youngsters voting on Nickelodeon's website.

R&B singer Usher is now engaged. He popped the question recently to his longtime girlfriend Tameka Foster. His publicist says they have plans to wed but wouldn't give any more details about the engagement. The Grammy-winning singer told MTV News they may walk down the aisle by the end of the year.

A new film is in the works that will look back at the 2000 U.S. presidential vote recount. An entertainment magazine reports Sydney Pollack, who won an Oscar for his work in "Out of Africa," will direct the movie for HBO. "Recount" will look at the Florida voting controversy that ultimately gave George W. Bush the Presidency over Al Gore seven years ago. The film is expected to be released spring 2008.

That's all for now, go to upi.com for all the day's news and updates. Thanks for watching
