Video is from the International Drag Bike Association (IDBA) World Finals in 1979. Features Sid Pogue, Terry Vance, Vickie Farr and more. This is one segment from the restored video player “ Kawasaki Good Times Theatre”. The Good Times Theatre video players were used at Kawasaki dealerships in the 1970’s for customer viewing on the showrooms. This restored video features great Kawasaki moments from the mid to late 1970’s. Audio quality on the restored video is fair, but clearly understandable. This is a great piece of Motorcycle History. Hope you enjoy it.

  • What I learned from this video: All the men in the world pre 1980 spoke with exceptionally deep voices, and Kawasakis were badass(still are).

  • I love all these old Kawasaki Corporate videos that koupscycleshop has posted. They bring back so many great memories. The old film has definitely aged, the voice track is definitely interesting. Thanks for posting!

  • Kawasaki has always been known for horsepower. The 1998 ZX9 was the first stock motorcycle to hit 9 seconds in the quarter mile.

  • very cool stuff

  • @pablof59 actually the hayabusa isnt the best in a quarter mile drag race.

  • I prefered riding the 2 stroke H2 750.

The power band (if it had chambers) was really exciting.

  • Almost from 1980 on Kawasaki were loosing ground to Suzuki. The 16 valve head/ twin swirel combustion chamber and larger gudgeon pin on the Suzuki gave it the edge.By the late 80's Kawasaki were finished in all but Top Fuel but even then the T/F engines were billet copies of Kawasaki.Kawasaki were at their peak in the mid 70's when American Turbo Pak fitted kits to the big Z's.They were just so fast in comparison to anything else.

  • @bigdrive22 A.K.A Triclops

  • there seems to be a scant regard for Health & safety :) - love it

  • Thanks for putting this on , Nice one mate !!!!! :)
