You can connect ANY existing WSS 3.0, MOSS 2007, SharePoint 2010 list to ANY external data sources in just minutes without any programming and all list features available, e.g. workflows and write-back, using the Business Data List Connector found at www.layer2.de/en/.

  • @scotsdale: You have to download, install and activate the Business Data List Connector add-on first as a Site Collection feature. Thx, Frank

  • how to connect oracle with sharepoint/infopath

  • @scotsdale2 It works exactly in the same way. Just take a different connection string. Thx, FRank

  • Will installing BDLC in sharepoint native 2010 changes its configuration file.please reply..its a type of migrating sharepoint 2007 to sharepoint 2010 without changing the configuration files.is there anyway to call WCF webservice from sharepoint without custom code,or desinger or sandboxed?.it will be helpful to me .please reply

  • @roobaselvendiran Installing BDLC doesn't change any SharePoint configuration files. It follows the guidelines for SharePoint solutions (wsp files). Nothing special with migration from 2007 to 2010, you have to upgrade the software with the 2020 version in this case. Please consult support (sales@layer2.de) directly about your web service requirement, to specify more detailed. The current version 3.4 can connect to SharePoint web services.

  • @creativeganesh: You have to install this before: Layer2 Business Data List Connector for SharePoint and activate it on site collection level.

  • @fdaske , I don't see Connect external data source in list general settings, anything wrong in my settings to this. Thanks

  • Hi , I am new to share point and i was looking to do a similar task you have shown.

But i am not able to find the option "connect to external data source" in the library settings.

What feature has to be enabled to get this option.

  • alter, so krass wie deutsche englisch sprechen^^

  • @ahmadzebdieh: Please check your version, should be 3.*. Please go to the BDLC Configuration List at the root site of your site collection, select you entry and set "Locked" to false. Then try again. For any further issues and a time limited full featured demo contact me directly (sales@layer2.de).
