The dogs killed my buddies' cat today. He just showed up at their house one day. The vet estimated that the cat was about 7 years old at the time
I hadn't seen him for about six months or so. Since my last delivery today was way out by his place, I decided to drop by for a short time. The cat was assumed to be in the house, and while we were inside visiting, we heard yelping and commotion, ran outside to find their cat softly mewing as he exhaled his last breath. Uggh.
As for sending my friends a condolence card...At this time, the reasons i see for wanting to send a card is to gain their approval and friendship. To prove that i am a warm and sensitive person. That I feel bad, so therefore "proving" that i care. - mind, ego, personality bullshit.
Other reasons might include: making them feel better, which would mean that i am upholding an idea that it is perfectly natural and acceptable to continue reacting to a past event, as though it still exists, and has any power whatsoever over what is here.
Unacceptable.
Those are bullshit reasons to send a card, or do anything for that matter.
This very moment i see the prospects of how much "worth" i may be able add to my 'personality' by being approved by John and Wendy. So from a mind/personality perspective, sending a card looks to my "best bet". and a wonderful opportunity to "gain" respect and admiration.
Seeking respect and admiration from others, indicates that one is "lacking" respect and admiration from within self, as self, for self.
It isn't necessary that one actually lacks what one seeks. The belief in 'lack' is enough to create the illusion that one "needs" to acquire 'it'.
Consider that "it" doesn't actually exist, but the belief in "it", leads one to believe that one can actually acquire it.
While what actually exists is here - already "acquired", yet goes completely unnoticed, because of one's focus upon acquiring that which is not acquirable.
We have inherited this very moment, here. That is what is real; actually existing - everything here, all at once. The physical. Stable, here, eternal, indisputable.
Thank you for sharing Lloyd
