  • I'm a Fire Cadet (still in high school) on our small Volunteer Fire District. There's a few firefighters on the roster that are just in it for the recognition of the general public. I know thats wrong. Your not a firefighter for the "fame and glory", your a firefighter to help people, friends, and family in their time of need.

  • @tonythetiger1027 Of, course you can. Guy I work with is 5'3'' and he already saves 12 lives, so far I counted. But, one thing for you to be careful on is clumbing a ladder from truck, due cause of your height. Take care.

  • I were at Firefighter boot camp at location of Fire Academy. It's really tough for everyone of us to delt with in first week. But, at least, we knew what the point for us to push ahead toward our goal for human's lives to save in future.

God bless our brothers for bravely trying to save innocent people during 9/11 attack.

  • sact it can be that but me i went threw it for 5 years in till i was blam for something i did not do i it help my stress level helping people

  • i really want to be a firefighter.. the thing is that im only 5'4 and a half, i know i can do just as well as the other guys, i was was just wondering if you guys think the firstation would even give me a chance?

  • after i saw this...i became firefighter

  • Loving it. Something about turning out and knowing you're about to see the belly of the beast that just makes me all warm inside.... actually its the fire nevermind. :D Love u guys stay safe.

  • Now thats FUCKING cool :D

  • need to get your state certificates as well as complete fire training through cyfair, lonestar, or wharton jr college then apply with HFD, and go through the academy, then you'll be in. It take a lot but if you just want to do volley, I would recommend just finding your closest fire station and applying and talking to an officer at the station to find out what you need to volunteer with them.

  • talk to any officer there and ask for an application. Usually they will have a meeting the first week of the month and vote you in or not as a probie member. Then most stations will train you in house so you can get your minimum number of hours of training to ride the truck as well as pass 3 phases of physical testing, NIMS through FEMA, and a written exam. Training usually takes about 3 months (at least it does with mine) then you can ride. If you want to go professional with it, y ou would
