I have a 2 channel amp,500 watt max and a pc supply 250 watt will it run on max or on half? And sub is 600 watt max

insufficient load on the psu , hook up a taillight lamp to either the 12 or 5v (depends on psu age)

@casemods I'd say it makes fine sense. Especially if you have a work bench and you want to do some testing for the amp. The amp doesn't need 1000 watts to turn on. So either keep the gain down low, or use only your HPF with the low freqs down, and you should be fine. But you're correct in that he won't be able to use the amp to it's fullest potential. ..or anywhere close to it. Should be fine for a test bench though.

try taking all the orange wires put them together and then put your brownwire with it (if u dont gotta brown use grey) if tht dont work try putting the brown (or grey) wire with 1 red wire lemme kno how it works...worked for me

Hey idiot.
The power supply is 250 watts and the amplifier is 1000 watts
Does that make sense?
Get a 1000 w power supply and don't ever turn the gain more than half on the amp
If the amp isn't actually 1000w rms then you don't deserve any help

@CheeseburgerLahey the psu's have a cut off of max amps and or volts thats probably why your amp goes off :/ hope i helped :D

@4c00h Power Suply Unit ;) but nvm ;P

@CheeseburgerLahey the reason its not staying powered on is because when doing this process you should have at least the same rms wattage as your amplifier has because if its a new amplifier then it does have new and safer technology so that the fuzes in the amplifer do not blow. if this technology was not in the amp and you were powering it with a 250 watt power supply the fuzes would blow because the amp was trying to pull so hard on the power supply for more energy.
why are you powering a 1000w device with a 250w psu?
