Das Prinzip: Fünf Zauberer

Fünf Zauberer" was without a doubt the highlight of Berlin based Epic-Disco duo Das Prinzip's very first concert at Bar 25 on July 10, 2009. This is a somewhat shortened version of the 14.30 min. truly epic original. A full length sound only version is on myspace/dasprincip. Das Prinzip are Jörn J. Burmester and Henrik Vestergaard Friis. "Fünf Zauberer" tells the personal story of failure in a project that tried to connect spiritual experience with art that Burmester was involved in in 2007/08. A central point of the lyrics is the misconception that all religions have in maintaining that there must be a natural order to the world, just because our mind and langauge work in (more or less) structured ways. Throughout history where there are systems of believe (like the catholic church, capitalism or science) there is a caste of priests, claiming a higher authority, by way of being closer to the source of wisdom than ordinary people, and acting for their own good. Beware of magicians!
