  • Nice....hire long should I wait for the base to dry so I can apply the fine line tape? Last time I waited like 2 hours and some spots lifted not only the base but some primer. How long do u suggest I wait

  • @jettastreetracer

depends on what kind of paint you are using, the temp, etc.

you have to start out with good prep to the surface before you apply paint

poor prep work you'll have problems every time

  • Very informative, Excellent information for someone just getting started.

  • @airbrushmagazine thanks man i will also the kawasaki is almost a year ago .. there is still some questions .. it didnt work quite well ;-)

  • @airbrushmagazine This is true, I guess it depends on your preference. Personally I mask everything completely just to make sure for extra precautions. Yeah it'd take more material but I was thinking one quick coat with the touch up gun for the color & then the airbrushing. Me personally I don't like having to spray a large area with the airbrush cause it seems to take forever to get it just right. Kudos to you though with the extra fine line giving it the pinstripe outline look

  • @Belk1488

not by the time you figure in the time to clean the touch up gun, but thats up to you if you believe it be faster for you than thats the way to go. You would need to mask the entire tank up to guard against over spray with a touch up gun which would require more time and material.

  • Wouldn't it just be simpler & quicker to hit that with a touch up gun then do the airbrushing?

  • Thanks man, this really helps a newbie like me to get along!
