if you want to buy made in japan mm jzz bass my advice is to save some extra money to change preamp and pickups, body is great, neck is great, hardware... but.. trust me i have one

yes,you could take that metal thing off. but it can also be useful,you could rest your palm there while slapping,just like marcus miller does.thanks for rating =)

It's a great bass but not even close to the best bass in the world. I own it and several others. :)

Has anyone tried the fender MM bass with a East Marcus retro preamp?? I' ve heard its good especially with Nordstrand Jazz pickups. Thinking of this combi with my fender MM4 string.

Delano preamp with Bartolini jazz pickups is what i would have put in the bass. Sounds totally amazing :)
