At the end of January 2009 Katie and I went on a 2 day trip to see the band the Shivers perform at a warehouse in Brooklyn, NYC. The trip was so memorable for the both of us we wrote a song about it and called it The Devil, My Pocket. When performed live this song ends with lyrics from the Shivers song "L.I.E."
The Devil, My Pocket - (lyrics)
In the winter on a Saturday Evening. On your couch in your living room in your house. Where we sorted them all out. Sugar, would you sing with me? In the summer on a Saturday evening. I'm playing the keys in the passenger seat. And sometimes your wrong chords are just what we need. Yeah, sometimes your wrong chords are just what we need. The train passes by below as we slept that night. Your dreams kept waking you, as did the blinking lights. We sat silent through that awful fight, but smiled at the sight of the skyline and the blinking sign. (The Shivers - L.I.E. stolen lyrics: Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan dreams, and trips out to the island.)
