Claude Debussy
Two Preludes, Book I:
8. (...la fille aux cheveux de lin)
(...the girl with the flaxen hair)
10.(...La Cathedrale engloutie)
(...The Sunken cathedral)
Performer: Allyson Crow
Recorded live April 29, 2008

Here is a video (or audio with picture) of me performing (live) two Debussy preludes. This was recorded in the concert hall at my college on a Fazioli concert grand piano (for those of you who would like to know) during the Spring semester of 2008 on April 29. I apologize in advance for any mistakes...please try to keep in mind that this was live. Please feel free to leave constructive comments about the piece, composer, performer, or video.

Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!

  • @douglassmcann Thanks for the compliments!Very glad you enjoyed it so. Well, I don't know when I will get to the Arabesque. Currently working on Brahms Op. 117!

  • Beautifully played. You are very musical! I also loved the artwork. Who are the artists?

  • Thanks again! I think this is probably one of my favorite performances of mine! Umm, I think they are all monet paintings?, with the exception of the Debussy pictures of course. They are definitely paintings from the "impressionistic" era.

  • Nice rendition. You've done a good job. One of my favourite interpretations of these beautiful pieces is played by Nuccio Trotta. I'd like to invite wacthing his performances, I think he's a very good pianist. Maybe you might appreciate him. Thanks.

  • Thanks! I will check out Nuccio Trotta's performance! Glad you enjoyed my performance!

  • wow a-some what school u got o and where you live?

  • Thank you for the kind reply. I wish you all the best with music.

  • I think both Charlie Parker and John Coltrane mention Debussy as being very influential. But then again, much if not most of 20th century music would do that.

  • i sayed that this piece IS NEARED AT THE JAZZ.

and my teacher wants that i play the children's corner suite by debussy. is it beauty, difficolt?
