Kigumo protest women angered Elias Mbaos remarks

Hundreds of women from Kigumo constituency held a demonstration protesting remarks made by Maragwa Member of Parliament, Elius mbao during a tour, by Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in the area recently. Led by Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairperson Beatrice Irungu the women armed with twigs and placards marched for several kilometers to Kirere trading center where they demanded an apology from the mp. They accused him of using derogatory statements when he likened the area MPs skip of the prime ministers tour to a husband who runs away from home when a visitor comes leaving his wife at the Mercy of the guest. They are asking politicians to be gender sensitive in their remarks.

Elias Mbau is not the Kigumo PM. The MP is one Jamleck Irungu Kamau. Perhaps these demonstrations happened before those crazy 2007 elections.

if they were that angered they would have demonstrated that same day, it nearly 2 weeks since the statement was made. I reckon the women were paid by the area MP to demonstrate. If I was to see my mum in there, I would disown her there n then.

Mbao is not the area MP, but surely u can see that this women were paid to demonstrate. otherwise they would have been in their shambas doing something profitable.

This remind me of One former M.p Ngengi Muigai who was heard praising himself at a Dart game contest while serving an M.P "Ino darti yanjiguire ta Nyakinyua ya gatundu" Translating to this game favours me just like Gatundu old uneducated women.He is a mister Nobody's Mp today.Women should be respected and 21 century is the end of Male dominance.
