2007 Westchester Pet Adoption Fair & Expo

Saturday, September 22, 2007, 10 am - 5 pm

Westchester County Center; 198 Central Avenue, White Plains, NY

We have a great day of exhibits and activities planned - don't miss these exciting demonstrations:

11:00 am - Portchester Obedience Club -agility demonstration

12 noon & 2:00 pm - Canine Freestyle Dog Dancing Show - think "Dancing with the Stars," not a circus performance. It's amazing to watch human and canine dance together - they seem like they are one!

1:00 pm - Mount Vernon Police K-9 Unit will be doing a demonstration

3:00 pm - Personal & Canine Fitness Training with Loren Manzell - a unique new training method that lets you and your dog get fit together, and motivates you to keep exercising because you both have fun!

And on hand to offer their expertise will be:

Chief Ken Ross, Westchester SPCA Animal Cops, will talk about our own "Animal Cops" here in Westchester and will have information on how your children can become 'deputies' in the Animal Cops; and

Rachel Hirschfield, Esq. will answer your questions on how to provide for your pets after you are gone by setting up a living trust.

"Ask the Vet" will provide visitors with information and answers to pet related questions from trusted area veterinarians. Bring your questions with you and you'll learn something!"Stop Animal Cruelty" - This booth will be an important part of the day's offerings, where you will learn how to recognize—and help put an end to—the tragedy of animal cruelty.

Animal Communicator and Pet Psychic Liz Mikre - Consistently one of the most popular exhibits at the event, Liz astounds people with her ability to offer amazing insights about companion animals both living and deceased. Bring a photo of your pet for a personal reading.

There will also be free information about low-cost spaying and neutering, face painting and balloon animals for the kids, raffles, give-aways, and plenty of pets looking for homes! Come and join us - it's a fun and informative day for the whole family!

Admission is $5 for adults and free to children younger than 12 years of age. ALL proceeds from this fun and educational day directly benefit homeless animals!

  • Good luck to you! I have a rescue dog, Kudos, that is wonderful.

  • What a great cause. I've been looking to adopt a dog for a month or so now so hopefully I'll find one this weekend at the Expo.
