But seriously Celtic people are also credited with inventing the Telephone , Television and inflatable rubber tires , among other indispensable modern conveniences we now take for granted. So I wonder why did the English popularize the "Irish Joke" depicting Irish people as useless , lazy , stupid , brainless , backward fools ? I have grown up listening to it all my life here in Australia.

It was Naval Architect, Arthur L. Busch who was responsible for the success of the Navy"s "Silent Service" and for the initial success of his former company The Electric Boat Company.
It was John P. Holland's company that was overran and monopolized to make these weapons. Unfortunately, this company is know to be "steeped in scandals" since its inception as Electric Boat and continues to take refuge in very poor memories, only remembering what it is they would prefer us to know about them.
