Also, do you realize how many millions would starve to death, if America were unable to feed them?

Maybe patriotism can be positive, but only if "the quality of being devoted to the well-being or interests of one's country" is interpreted correctly, since this definition implies that a true patriot should strive to improve the lives of people in all countries because he realizes that his country doesn't exist in isolation. If concerned about the well-being of all people, he, of course, is concerned about the well-being of people in his own country. But then "patriotism" becomes irrelevant.

Wow, how flowery, and naive...I bet you're doing your professors proud. The actual definition of "patriotism" is to show zealous support of ones own country. I know your professors have filled your head with a lot of globalist/socialist idiocy, but the fact of the matter is- there is a reason that the American GDP is so much higher than other countries, and it's not because we;ve stolen anything. Our system encourages investment in capital, and free markets...it's as simple as that. We are free

I thought chanting USA USA USA was the essence of patriotism, that and not questioning things. xD

I'm not sure if your comment was meant to be funny, or what, but it was pretty damned stupid. The spirit of American Patriotism is outrage. Outrage enough to take arms in rhetoric, and in violence; even, in treason, against ones own government. That is, to "rage against the machine," as it were. I'm not even going to validate lalelu900s rambling, incoherent, comment with a response beyond this.
