Muhammad made war on peaceful Jewish farmers in the Arabian peninsula, and stole their land by FORCE. To "justify" his attacks, he used the excuse that they were being obstinate in refusing to recognize him as a legitimate prophet. So, given the fact that Muhammad claimed the "RIGHT" to make war on those who were NOT convinced of the veracity of his "revelation", by THAT reasoning, any Muslims today can, and sometimes DO, claim the "RIGHT" to make war on contemporary non-believers.
On the contrary, Kr00C, I understand very well. I have a university education in Mediterranean and Ottoman history, and I have read and studied the Quran in its ENTIRETY for a large part of my adult life . . . . something I KNOW even many token Muslims have not done. Yes, the current Jihadists are wrong, and so was the charlatan "prophet" Muhammad. If you want to believe Muhammad was a true prophet, that is your business, but I am under no such moral obligation. Polytheists "convinced"? BS.
@gaelstag The point this guy is trying make is that the current Jihadists are wrong, something u clearly didn't understand...
Also, you have to look at this with an open mind. Muslims believe that Muhammad was a true Prophet & Messenger of God. He was commanded by God to wage war against the Polytheists only because they denied his revelation, even after being convinced that he was speaking the truth. Think about that. Don't you think God would punish someone for not recognizing His existence?
What absolute rubbish! The speaker claims that the order to make war on "idolators" was specific to Muhammad. Tell THAT to the current Jihadists who OPENLY claim to be making war on unbelievers! The speaker is openly justifying the idea that Muhammad had a "RIGHT" to make war on polytheists simply BECAUSE they were polytheists . . . even if they were not doing the "Prophet" any harm.
