Warner Bros. acquired the financially ailing 7 Arts Studios in the mid-1970's. The blended studios completed their merger by the end of 1979 (if memory serves). The new studio retained the Warner Bros. name and Warner Bros./7 Arts name was phased out. That's why the W7 shield was around, but very briefly.
