RELEASED ON 9TH MARCH
It's not often someone would associate the words 'relaxing' and 'uplifting' with the genre Dubstep, but the combination of Eyes and Ryan Keen on their first track together is just that. With a rooster of some heavyweight names under his remix belt, including Labrinth and Cher Lloyd, Eyes has driven himself to the forefront of peoples attention in 2012 through the sheer force of his music and work rate. Ryan Keen himself is no stranger to the spotlight, with support on tour with the ever present Ed Sheeran and his debut single premiered by Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton.
'Tonight' is exactly what you would expect from these two being in the same studio and doesn't disappoint in any sense. Bordering between acoustic pop and dubstep, the result is an ambient and moody track that veer's the genre off in a new lane. Slow beating drums combined with reverbing guitar lines, creating the perfect backdrop for Ryan's smooth vocals. The lyrics are what set's this apart from your standard release. 'A perfect stranger but imperfect places'. Dire Straits and Skream would be proud to produce something like this on the off chance they got together.
As Quantum continues to push the boundaries, Titchimoto returns to duty for the label after the massive reaction to his remix for Virtual Riot. Breaking down the track to its bare necessities it slowly builds back up with a deep piano lead backed by off cast clicks and that trademark electric guitar while letting those vocals shine perfectly. No-one creates such an haunting and unique remix as Titchimoto at the moment. Urban Knights jump in to up the noise levels a bit and prove such a soft vocal can still smash a dance floor. Ryan's vocals slowly build over a synth and stabs of synth before it all erupts with some serious low bass, guaranteed to hype any late night set. It's a pleasure to have both on board.
We hope you enjoy this new release from Quantum and look forward to seeing Eyes and Ryan Keen progress with their careers throughout the year, it's certainly looking like it's going to be a big one.
