didn't he saw the loose sand ? plus he goes and does it with a XC bike ? His body position was ideal but still he didn't landed it...
Loose sand, a very short crosscountry fork, thin tyres and a long stem were the main reasons, nevertheless he was corageous enough to try...
Shake it up and buy a real bike, a Downhill one and u'll see what I mean...
