1984 is a story about communism turning into an authoritarian state.

Orwell was a liberal but he was extremly critical of communism and how "the people" eventually turned into "stalin" and "mao".

His name is really Eric Blair, he's the man who wrote '1984'. I don't really see the parallels between the song and what is written in the book, though.

@yzotop111: Like I said, he was obviously there to to protest for democracy. No one's going to stand in front of a tank and risk their life for any other reason. Because of his outburst, he is in jail for life, it has been established. As far as those bags go, how positive are you that they are shopping bags (as a product of pro-capitalist activity)? Actually, let me restate that, he was sentenced to life in prison but was executed two weeks after the incident for having the audacity to speak out against communism/the all-powerful state.
