Stephen Sondheim's PASSION Live from Lincoln Center, 2005. Starring Patti LuPone (Fosca), Audra McDonald (Clara), Michael Cerveris (Giorgio). Directed by Lonny Price. I do not own anything blah blah blah.

  • i cried from part 6 to part 12 :')

  • @broadwayloverny10 Yeah, so do I every time I watch this :)

  • @AutumnToSpring good so im not the only one i think Patti showed a new person here i have never seen her so heart broke and defenseless before it was new for me and i have watched it 3 times and cried harder each times she great :' ) i think that Girgio was being a jerk and discovered the his feelings to late in the story which made me cry harder

  • @broadwayloverny10 I agree. You totally forgot it was her during the show. Her character seemed completely broken, like an old puppet that was thrown away ... Or like a child that doesn't understand why these cruel things happen. She's simply amazing. And hell yes! Giorgio's such a fool for not seeing her inner beauty!

  • I still prefer Donna Murphy, acting-wise...but Jere Shea can't touch Michael. Although Michael does sound perpetually depressed here and in Sweeney Todd. Something about his voice.

  • I think Audra outshines Marin in every way possible. However, I think Donna Murphy simply was perfect for the role of Fosca. Nobody could be better than her in the role. Jere and Michael, however, are REALLY closely vying for my vote ...

  • @roninjoey I think he has a great voice, but his acting is rather wooden.

  • @AutumnToSpring Was she truly so beautiful, or was it the love that she found in herself for Giorgio that made her beautiful?

  • @poetoffire I think Jere Shea is underrated.

  • Also Giorgo's shunning of her has nothing to do with her appearance. He's not initially interested because of it, and because he's already in a relationship, but he's just trying to stop her from pursuing him without hurting her. If you were in this situation I don't think that would be the reaction.

  • @AutumnToSpring another thing is with her face her voice and her hands she shows great emotion in them. Her face shows more than something than a regular actress would. This shows in a way it has happened to her before i didn't know whether or not she was acting when she said Giorgio my love don't leave me i had to rewatch that a couple times because it seemed so real. i hate and love the ending oy Patti, Michael, Audra, and Sondheim together make the best things possible
