And now, what no one asked for: the full 1993 Winter CES (games portion) video I put together all those years ago. The show was at the Las Vegas Convention Center and was the first CES/E3 I attended. It was also the last CES that NEC/Turbo Technologies attended.

No tripod, no steady cam, no direct feed. Just hand-held footage edited together on a couple of VCRs with a soundtrack featuring original and arranged versions of contemporary game soundtracks. Can you name them all?

Part 1 of 9.

  • Great video; I love seeing this stuff.

Actually, I just found an old handout from a CES show; either 93 or 94, I'm not sure. Do you happen to know the rough dates that those shows were on? Even the month would help.

  • @BobJones0 IIRC, WCES was in January and SCES was in June or July. Don't remember the exact dates.

  • NEC/Turbo Technologies attended the 1993 Summer CES as well.

  • @fthetm Good catch, thanks.

  • I'm soooo psyched for the SegaCD. Think about it: with over 100 times the megabytes, that means games will be 100 times funner to play. It's a good thing this is true or I'd be in for a decade of clinical depression...

  • @patrickcoyne Summer CES was in May, I'd have to dig out my old guidebook they gave everyone who attended for an exact date.

  • awesome

  • dude im glad you put these vids together bro...

  • I remember the 3do footage in your video, the game was i like a flight game, it never came to be, and the footage was far beyond the abilities of the 3do, i still love the system.

  • Haha, actually I was part of the "press" (ie, fanzine). Things were not so strict back then :)
