In this video, I show how to photograph water droplets with an ordinary point & shoot camera. All aspects of shooting are covered in this video, from camera settings, to positioning the camera for the best shot.

There is a slideshow of photos from this shoot at the end.

  • Hey QUESTION............ PLEASE anser

    I have a canon powershot sx130is

and i like taking videos and pictures

in manual focus though i don't know...... can i control the manual focus WHILE taking video please tell me can i.... and if i cant is there like a hack for it or lens atachment or somethin like that

  • @Hilsong3 As far as I know, you can't control focus manually during video mode.

  • low ISO causes motion blur...wouldn't that cause any problem ??

  • @Abhishek631990 Low ISO causes a slow shutter speed, resulting in motion blur. If you don't want your photos to be blurry, you should use a higher ISO. Experiment with it though!

  • @zoeyxander The main thing to work on is the focus. Once it is locked, don't move the camera.

Or maybe your lens is dirty :P

  • My shots don't have your clarity- same camera- any ideas or suggestions? Keep up the great work.

  • @Abhishek631990 You should look up things like light painting or moving photography. There are some really cool natural effects you can get when experimenting with different settings. Try a bunch, if you're using digital then you have no reason not to.

  • Great video, thx for share.

  • i have the exact same camera! :D i like taking macro shots as well. thanks for the video!

  • @davetteZR1 With the sx210 you have manual exposure mode. This gives you control over the aperture and shutter speed (and more).

So with a little bit of experimentation, you should get shots with perfect exposure. I think it has manual focusing too, which will be great because when I was shooting these, lots of them were out of focus. Manual focus is better than focus lock.

Read the manual, and good luck!
