Spiritual Housecleaning Part 1

'Spiritual house-cleaning' is the process of freedom from demonic oppression. When we are examining ourselves find bad habits, bad fruit, evidence of unrepentant sin and we begin to cry out earnestly with desire to not only overcome, but to change at all costs doors of access begin to shut. Deliverance begins to happen.

When I began down this path of deep self examination I realized that I had issues. In reading the Word of God and comparing my Walk along-side of it... things werent adding up. I found myself identifying oh--too--well, with Saint Pauls lament in Romans 7:15, For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.. . .

Just a couple things.I hope you don't think I 'm being picky..

The Gaderene Demoniac did not cry out for help to Jesus but rather the bible says:

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

Mar 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

These demons were terrified and spoke to Jesus..The man said nothing of himself until he was delivered and in his right mind....

The word possessed in the KJB is totally appropiate.

The author states that English speaking people today see the word as meaning total ownership of something which may be true. but we need to understand that common usage of words do change, but that doesn't mean the translator got it wrong. But we need to use an period English dictionary such as the 1828 Websters .

@rustysruger true. could be a matter of interpretation over luke's account... he believing that falling b4 him & crying out was separate from the shouting out part.

the thing i think is important was that he came... we have to ask ourselves, is it in a demon's best interest to play a '9' against a trump? a demon will manifest in the presence of the anointing, so are they really so bold and wanting to be judged or is it that there is desire for freedom among the host to flock to the deliverer?

@freedoms01 the same w/ acts 16:16-19. is it perhaps some part of her humanity that wants to be free from the men using her for profit? good questions anyway, but the point being is if we exhibit fruit contrary to the fruit of the spirit... we need to examine & if we cannot seem to break free we need to go deeper and look for legal access the enemy might have.

Also they recognized this wasn't just some vagabond Jew they were encountering. Being in the spirit world they saw God approaching them and totally freaked,thinking it was time for their judgment.

@rustysruger These Godly men knew their Greek and English well, but we can;t hold them responsible for how people understand today's English words.

For example I'm sure whoever coined the word "gay" or "fagot" would never have dreamed how people use them today...

Here is Websters 1828 definition of possessed:

POSSESS'ED, pp. Held by lawful title; occupied; enjoyed; affected by demons or invisible agents.

As you can see the word "totally" or "completely" do not appear...Blessings
