Three piece, welded construction. Here are the two top halves roughly formed. After two or so previous attempts (which all were too small) I decided instead to raise this one rather than dish it...that way I could start with an overly large pattern and shrink it and cut excess material as I went. It is constructed from 14 gauge steel and raised over a shot put. No heat treatment.

The center line is not entirely straight, and the right half at opening of video is more rounded than the left.

It fits well so far, and I have room to make adjustments. I plan to pad it with a 1/2" yoga mat when finished.

Planishing is going to be a pain.

  • it looks like My sister would like to ride on that one all day since she has no boyfriend...(laugh)

  • what did you use to get the dome shape?

  • This needs to be dished further and the point more pronounce.

Not to bad for a beginning effort though. :)

  • Did you make that?
