This is just a test to show how this cabinet sounds and to show people on Ebay what it looks like. I played through the bottom cabinet of the stack and then I turned both of them on for comparison purposes. This is the older version of this cabinet by Avatar. It doesn't have the new Neo speakers in it but still sounds good. Great cabinets.

  • Very nice demo (as well as tone & playing also!) I've had an Avatar 2x12/2x10 that I run for my unique clean/dirty setup (clean signal goes to the 12s, dirty to the 10s so I can use my effects without losing traditional "bass" in the mix) and have been so impressed by both the sound and build quality compared to "The Big Guys" that I plan to pick up one of *each* of Dave's line for a "Mix 'n Match" setup depending on the gig - a 4x10/2x12 Big Rig down to a two 1x12 "Clean/Dirty" MicroStack.

  • I love this idea of running clean and dirty sounds together. I plan to try this next. I read the guy from "Rage Against the Machine" does this and I'm sure a lot of guys in rock do now. The problem I've always had with effect boxes is the regular bass sound suffers and so does bass presence in the band. Running a good solid FET type sound and a tube growl sound separate is brilliant I think. I gotta try that! It may not sound great on its own but within the band it could be very good.

  • If you've heard of the "big muff" by electro harmonics, I'd recommend picking that up. It's simple, gain/tone. But it does not sacrifice any of the low end, but give it a nice crunch, or mellow overdrive if you'd like. They make a smaller version of it. I recommend the ORIGINAL big muff. It's awesome. Chris wolstenholme of muse has had this in his rig before, that's where I heard of it. Great little pedal. Don't know if they still sell them though.

  • It's truly when I found *MY* sound - I was always an Effects Guy but hated how my Clean Bass tone suffered so... especially back before True-Bypass units made their comeback. Luckily, I along with 10 other players lacked onto SWR's Mo' Bass/Mini Mo' line with inboard effects and the ability to split your outputs to both pre-and- post-EFX with the push of its "Dual Mode" button. And you're right, adding just a touch of grit when you still have a clean cab is killer in a band setting. :D
