  • This bill was not proposed by defazzio and has no co-sponsors. Even the link provided says so if you read down the page.

  • @BOBMAN068 thank you for your comment. my interpretation was different and i will definately review the link. thanks.

  • This internet message has proven to be a hoax. HR 4646 was proposed back in 2010 and died. Even Snopes got it wrong. Google rep. Peter Defazio on HR 4646 and read what he had to say. The other part is that some who wanted to resubmit the bill had plans to eliminate the federal income tax and replace it with the 1% sales tax. No need to get upset about this.

  • @ancestralblue interesting info. do you have links for this - would be great to have those. thank you.

  • @underworldclassroom Please google the bill number and the Peter Defasio's name and then google the bill number by itself. Snopes is there as are many pages explaining this whole thing and who had actually sponsored it. The actual plan was to drop the income tax and propose instead a 1% national sales tax. Not going to happen though.

  • @ancestralblue ty. i will check that out! much appreciated.

  • First of all...this disturbs the bejesus out of me in that it even made it to the voting floor of congress. Bills that get voted against initially don't go away (Patriot Act) and could easily re-surface later and passed. Second, all of the anti-HR4646 propaganda that is circling...claiming it is untrue is even more disturbing. Third...noone seems to have a clear definition on what it actually is. You strip away enough swirling crap and you eventually hit the truth.

  • I went to the Snopes site and it said it was a bill sponsored by Congressman Chaka Fata and it indicated that it was an individual bill and it was supposed to be a bill that would take the place of the federal income tax.

The current legislation apparently has no co-sponsors.....???...

I know you all hate Nancy and Obama but chill!

  • If they are taxing when funds come in and out, it's not a 1% tax then. It's a 2% tax on the same funds. And then it will be taxed again as earnings. This is clearly double taxation and unconstitutional. Also the feds will then be monitoring every single transaction the public will be making, which would eat up the profit of such a tax. Our state Representatives should be outraged about the amount of money this will take out of the local economy. This is just bad politics in action.

  • Nancy is a permanet fixture no voting her out
