While of course the way that the conspirators decided on Operation Valkyrie is more complicated than that (and to be sure this film is a hagiography/hero worship of Stauffenberg) how else will you show months, years of planning and deciding in a 2 to 3 hour movie? Its normal for movies to abbreviate, condense or conflate characters and events for the sake of clarity and brevity.

Cruise's accent is annoying, he's the weakest part of this movie. A shame since it was shot so well. I have the german version and it is so much better in German.
