Columbia master 142915-3, rec. New York, 5 November 1926.
Unknown singers.
I don't know anything about these guys, but they were quite busy in the years between 1926 and 1930, recording with some well-known bands, such as Ben Selvin and Carl Fenton.
They cut some rare solo sides for Q-R-S, but as I've never seen one of those, we'll have to make do with a nice early Gershwin recording.

  • My copy, that I bought for the pricely sum of 50 pence, was totally silent. Literally no surface noise at all. As if it was a modern vinyl copy.

  • The flip side, Do Do Do, is even better! Incredible sound quality for such an early record.

  • Fantastic quality for a record that's pushing 100 years old. When you consider the needles that they used in the old phonograph players I would say that you record is 1 in a million!......

  • I had this on a laminated British Columbia pressing. Incredible quality for such an early record with a band that swung like heck and and beautiful internal balance. A true gem.
