Planting trees (three sugar thyme crabapples) more than the birdfeeders have attracted a million finches it seems. Purple finches, and as of today (as far as I know) goldfinches. We also have juncos which prefer to feed on and off the ground which is a good thing because the finches make a huge mess. Eastern bluebirds - we counted eight yesterday! Sparrows too, probably, but since all the birds are constantly in motion and I don't know my birds that well, I cannot tell whether it's some kind of sparrow or a female finch.
