Certaldo

Music and sound collage by Fausto Bottai.
This is a virtual duet, where a friend flutist, Titta Sanità, plays the flute part entirely, while I prepared the guitar part (sound collage), largely composed by fragments of the Angelo Barricelli performance for solo guitar.
Certaldo is the charming country where Giovanni Boccaccio was born. I'm also Tuscan, from a little country, Cavriglia, which is little more than 50 km from Certaldo.
I like this piece so titled in honor of a great writer that I love, but also in honor of all Tuscany. The images I chose to accompany the music are in fact Tuscan landscapes,
work by Macchiaioli, painters of the nineteenth century, many of whom were from Tuscany.
You must forgive my imperfect English...
