I looks so great only on a film - I'm aupairing for 8 mhts and I know a little bit about it. The kids are not always so polite and nice, sometimes they drive people crazy! Don't forget about cooking, taking kids to school, quite often doing the laundry, ironing and sometimes cleaning! It's not only playing in the park...

I was and au pair in USA..and i would like another year in europe is england good to do it... I had bad times with familiaes in USA but anyway I had a great time there...soo i dont know

Can an au pair be hired to do farm work, or actual physical labor instead of caring for kids? I'm a guy and only babysat for about a year, and babysitting just doesn't interest me. I don't mind doing it a bit when necessary, though, but not full time.

@borntobelegend Yes, there are families in Sweden who want au pairs, and a lot of them would probably love for you to speak English to the kids! And still , if yo¨u're interested in studying Swedish, that's one of the best ways to do it, by spending time in the country, taking classes and meet up with Swedish people. I'm an au pair in the U.S. right now, and I'm from Sweden, if you didn't guess that already ;)

being an au pair is not pink,im au pair in deutschland germany and my gastmutter ist shit, i can not practice the language and i pay my sprachschule and the kid is nice but very difficult and also the chores...the best advice is to study hard in university and travel abroad with another job au pair sucks not always but it does...
