Video from the first meal of the school lunch program at EMSH, a small school located in Thomassique, Haiti. The food was donated by Feed My Starving Children (fmsc.org) and is a unique formula consisting of rice, the most widely accepted grain around the world, extruded soy nuggets, providing maximum protein at lowest cost, vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian chicken flavoring to give growing children the critical nutritional elements they need, and dehydrated vegetables for flavor and nutrition. The food was then shipped to Thomassique by Medical Missionaries (medicalmissionaries.info), an international organization dedicated to providing health care, medical support, medical education, and training to people in developing countries around the world.
The Thomassique School Lunch Project is directed by the Medical Missionaries Post-Baccalaureate Fellows (thomassique.blogspot.com) and is an effort to provide a lunch-time meal at schools around Thomassique. Having lunch helps students learn better and improves health and nutrition. We are working to extend the school lunch program to 5-6 additional schools in Thomassique next year.
