This is a very magical guitar with a huge voice. It has the magic of a great Gibson J200 with that great natural reverb like a great J50. It also has the magic of the older New York Epiphones and even has some of the chunk of an older Gibson Super 400. If you are looking for a great guitar come try this one as it is really special. The buttery mids and bass with the natural reverb and delay has to be heard............this guitar has a huge piano like voice and it is in a class by itself and worth driving a few hours to check out. I am a player and really know guitars and this is one hell of a box. Perfect for a session player, songwriter, collector, studio owner or producer.

  • hard to believe that these are all laminate models!

  • @jlbabb74 Try Phosphor Bronze 11-50 or 11-52 and maybe add bone pins and saddle and see what happens

  • i must agree.....that sound comes thru the wire on youtube. & thats hard to replicate......reminds me of acoustic zeppelin........sounds great.....jimmy would approve

  • this is the one Id buy over Gibson..great overtones

  • yeah it sounds amazing! what strings you using on it? have a 1981 5052 same bridge as yers' ... with old strings on mine its not as bright as yers' u must have lighter n newer strings on yers ungh?

mine seems more midrange toned as plays w/aged strings. check a clip out of mine' flynlulus channel thanks ps u still have yours? what'd u get for it? I pay'd $376+ shipping $40 for mine w/ Bil lawrence pick up n nice case.

  • i have the same guitar . can you recommend a guitar string i cant find a string that sounds good on mine

  • wow. one of the best sounding guitars I've heard. Alvarez Yairi is the samurai sword of guitars.

  • I totally agree with everything you said. I just purchased the same guitar from the son of the original owner. He didn't play and kept it in the case for 25 years after his dad had a stroke in the early 80s. I got it for 200.00 in like new showroom condition. It is my fav now. It was still perfectly in tune.. Unreal I got to get it out. Thanks

  • Best sounding jumbo I've seen on YouTube!
