sounds brilliant like that! throw the muffler away!!!

so does it have a cat?

I had a car exactly like this. I beleive the paint is called Maui Blue. I loved that car. Mine was an 88. Not the fastest car with the 305TBI but it handled really well with the performance suspension in it and looks awesome. This makes me miss my Trans AM.

in my opinion, sbcs, or any v8 really, sound best with no muffler. haha
-
@astcomjakecw agreed... when i was running open headers, as long as you were easy on the throttle it want too loud.. its when you open it up its a totally different story
-
@astcomjakecw i mean htta may be true to an extent but i konw for a fact it wont make the car difficult to take off in, i drove mine with open headers to the exhaust shop and takeoff from zero is pretty much the same, at least with a manual transmission. and i have an 87 trans am. i love the sound of open headers, i think its the best haha

you lose torque and gain hp. it changes your power band. the HP will peak at a much higher rpm, raising your shift point, but the backpressure is so low at low rpms, that takeoff in a 2 ton car can be difficult without giving it some gas.

hes not going to burn up the heads, the heat isnt what causes streight pipes to blow an engine genius. flowmasters are for pussies and rednecks lol. and becides. the only flow masters that sound good on these things are the 40 series, and those are actually listed as illegal in some states.
-
BTW fords little 302's dont have the back pressure to be able to do this safely. if it's a mustang. unless its charged, you run a high risk of blowing the engine. more so in cold weather
sounds great the way it is, he shouldnt wreck it ith a flowdisaster
