"Living in the city - that's the life! - Dad used to say.
Gee, thanks. Screw ya, pop! This place never had any hope. Why would it given any to you?! Anyways. I was glad you found your job in the metro. While I was left to slack off, no school, no job, nothing to do. Ya know I hate that! But you were so HELL bent on me finding "the right track".
Screw you, dad.
Running. That's what I always liked. Not on race tracks, just anywhere else. Rooftops, for example.
I'm still running away from fate..."

there's that city feeling to it, but whenever i picture it, it's a slum, stretching as far as the eye can see, and the absurdity that has become the human condition for so many.

I've written a scene in a story... A hero, fallen from grace, walks down a bustling city street. She receives nothing but dark looks from the people who no longer trust her, no longer want her around. She pays them no mind, because for the moment, she's nothing. Nobody. The colour is gone from the world and all is bleak and grey. Strangely silent despite the chaos. If I could envision it in film, this song would be playing in the background.

how many times have you died?
