3) I'd recommend any professional who has to work on various workstations and various operating systems to avoid getting used to this (un)natural default setting and turn it off as soon as possible, or else you'll end up getting used to Apple's way and not the way that everyone else has been doing it for years (exceptions for Magic Trackpad which is a whole new kind of device).

My thoughts: 1) It's very arrogant for Apple to take something that has been industry standard for decades now, with no one ever complaining to the contrary that scroll wheels are counterintuitive, and suddenly flip their whole freaking OS. 2) People without a technical background assume that flipping the OS for touch devices like Magic Trackpad was Apple's only option. They could have just flipped their touch devices, deeerp!

For all those with 3rd party mouse with scroll wheel on a desktop computer: there is no way to switch off natural scrolling. but there is a workaround! download the free tool "scroll reverser". It is actually a tool to emulate natural scrolling when you work with snow leopard. In Lion, it gives you the old fashioned scroll style back!

@santschopantscho Worked fine for me without using any third part software. And I'm using the Logitech LX8. :)
