Yeah, you absolutely need to learn palm muting to do the " darkness riff. " It's gonna sound like shit played that way.. also try to record the sound with better microfone.

one cant even tell its metallica's song. you need to play it a bit more clear or get a bigger and better amp. but i believe its the way u play that makes it the way it is. use some palm muting for a start which makes the heavy riffs.
