The Exorcist - Original Spiderwalk (My Edit)

One of my many attempts of editing the original spiderwalk scene from The Exorcist back into the film. I used outtake footage from "The Fear of God: 25 Years of The Exorcist" documentary. The music is called 'String Quartet' by Krzysztof Pendrecki, which can be found on The Exorcist CD soundtrack.

You can find the original un-edited outtake in the video response section below, along with a video of director William Friedkin and author William Peter Blatty discussing why it was cut from the film.

This version of the spiderwalk follows more closely to what William Peter Blatty wrote in the novel:

Chris looked up and froze.

Gliding spiderlike, rapidly, close behind Sharon, her body arched backward in a bow with her head almost touching her feet, was Regan, her tongue flicking quickly in and out of her mouth while she hissed sibilantly like a serpent.

"Sharon?" Chris said numbly, still staring at Regan.

Sharon stopped. So did Regan. Sharon turned and saw nothing. And then screamed as she felt Regan's tongue snaking out at her ankle.

Chris whitened. "Call that doctor and get him out of bed! Get him now!"

Wherever Sharon moved, Regan would follow.

the version with blood coming out of her mouth is even better

Fucking hell. That is so much scarier than the one with the blood in the mouth. The blood scene is too visual, nothing left to the imagination. This one is just fucking freaky, the camera shot when she is coming straight at you is just right. And to all the people who say it's funny, I just don't get you.

@MrTiki7690 How is it a huge overstatement? Is it so difficult for people to understand their opinion is not the only one that matters? Millions of people still find this film more frighting than any other, it still gets voted as the scariest movie every year, and it has affected and made an impact on people more than any other horror movie. Just because YOU didn't find it the scariest, doesn't mean everyone else is wrong.

@toomuchpetrol i think this version is better because it shows the demon wants her to go out and commit adultery, the scene with the blood just ended her with out trying to get out of the house which doesn't feel really demonic. but the blood should have kept in as she tries to get out making her tongue go in and out like that.
