Reality Check: Reform will eliminate insurance discrimination against the disabled

Mike Strautmanis, Chief of Staff for Valerie Jarrett and father of a child with a disability, addresses the myth that health insurance reform will mean children with disabilities will not get the care they need. To, the contrary, reform will make insurance more affordable, provide more options, and eliminate discrimination in purchasing health insurance so families wont be turned down if a parent or child has a pre-existing disability or other health condition.

So much Fear mongering, prejudice,racism & hysteria, as 100's of ppl swallow whatever the fringe-right tells them-then, as victims of manipulation themselves, go (many not all) to those highly televised townhall meetings in a feedin frenzy of Fear & panic, w/ no intent on listening to what their congress members respond to them w/ unless it is confirming their preconceptions goin into the meetings. How can somebody be against a law that saves millions of people, from losing their existance or dying because they had no health insurance but just bad luck? Nobody outside if america gets the point of the republican party..The only message they can send out is FEAR. The republicans are racists, fundamentalists and for all interested in keeping things right the way they are or turn the wheel of time even back and tell us there were no dinosaours on earth and the world is created in 7 days...

MIKE, HAVE YOU READ THE BILL? Tell us anything. Show us in the bill, what is the page #? The fact is too much is left to decide AFTER the bill is passed. Like who is going to be appointed to make the decision on our benefits? Why is that never discussed?

After the stimulus bill, remember no ear marks, no reward for bad players etc. & the President was so choking mad & shocked that it was in the bill HE signed? YOU OWN IT! Along w/ the lack of credibility that you now have.

the system we have with private insurers is truly awful for children with disabilities. a week after my child was diagnosed with autism we got a letter from them stating that they will no longer cover her occupational therapy and psychological services because it's a "pre-existing condition".

We need health care reform now to stop this corruption. And to anyone who protests big government, why aren't you protesting our military action, public schools, police or fire department?

Check this out..my kid has cerebral palsey and was denied ssi and medicaid because I work..but we will pay for people to sit on their asses and smoke weed all day while I pay taxes and my son is denied the help that he deserves. I make 13.15 and hour that is hardly anything especially since uncle sam takes out majority for lazy ass people. A special needs child is not cheap and I am sick of my taxes paying for ppl who dont do shit rather than those who just need help!

How about health care just for those who need it. I dont need it but ifthe Gov comes up with a plan my company will shove me into it eventually. Open up Private insurance accross State lines and the health care cost will emeidiately drop. Make true tort reform and health care cost will really drop. OBAM knows that yet he refuses to acknowledge it. Why?

How about a health reform that gives all coverage with no discrimination whether it be race creed religion sexual preference handicapped etc etc with no bureaucrat in between WE The People and our doctors, no council on who gets what coverage, no waiting list for surgical procedures whether they are on a small scale or large. And the use of every means available in the medical field to preserve the life of all natural born and legally immigrated immigrants until our time on earth is done.
