Also, CAP still uses the Cessna 172 and the Maule MT-7-235.

Not having a plane is not that bad. I don't think OK Wing nescisarily assigns a specific plane to a squadron, it's more what squadron uses and takes care of it more. And even though our squadron dosent have it's own plane (Were based out of Tinker AFB), we still use another squadrons plane as much as they do.

@mounsteres im sorry to hear that national dosent regulate them correctly all you guys can realy do is annoy them (i recoment 2 letters a week :D ) til they give you one because like i said you raise the 300 grand for a cessna (not to mention the DF equipment ) national will eat it up especially in this economy

@youngestpilotinGa We have a person who's a pilot in our squadron. We dont have a plane. We're based off a dang ANG Base for freak's sake...

@mounsteres squadrons dont buy the airplanes they are all property of the national HQ of the civil air patrol and are distributed to squadrons. it is their responsibility to provide the airplanes not the squadrons to buy them because chances are if a squadron raised the money to get a plane and it was "donated " to the squadron national would say " great, give it to us there is someone else who needs it more"

@youngestpilotinGa Some Squadrons dont have enough money to buy a plane that is High Wings, or the only person in the squadron who owns a plane doesn't have a High Wing...

why did they but a low wing aircraft? the point of having cessna's and the ga-8's is their high wings so that we can look down to the ground on a mission
