  • I think this is unique, artfully done, and the tone was just excellent. His balance was impeccable, and his interpretation is interesting in the beauty it gives to a piece that is usually more heavy in nature.

  • haunted...immensely beautiful...

  • The Russian school of playing Chopin in the pre Richter is just odd. thelowest bass here hs never had this quality.Seems novel but right ,more morbid than anyone else without being slow or overly sinister. There is something to this playing.I must hear more .Little pedal maybe and each voice so clear .This is weird on first hearing!

  • Why is it that every time you hear a piece of music you feel the need to analyze it to death. Can't you just listen to the beauty and stop with your nitpicking. Only moonbeam and you seem to feel this urgent call.

  • im sure the beat is the last thing on his mind. how is modernity defined? interestubg question....

  • I like the fact that he is out in front of the beat which lends this a quality of spontanteous urgency in keeping with real traditional style, but he doesn't vary it & after a while a deadening predictability sets in.Modernity hurt his playing.
