i was totally against painting hermit crab shells! but i ordered this special shell paint off the internet and i painted the shells. it has calcium in it so if they eat it, its okay! i might post videos of my hermit crabs so u can see its painted shell

My pet store only has painted extra shells so i got a regualr hermit crab and waited for a extra shell to find

you may need to educate yourself ... painted shells, the paint chips away slowly, the crab ingests and then dies ... you have have had your crabs 5 months but i know they will not live upwards of 18 years with painted shells ... when trying to educate, at least make sure you are right :O) i will just assume you are a little boy with a bit to learn ...

NO you cannot paint the shell... the paint is toxic to hermies, even the paints that say non-toxic (they're only non-toxic to humans). And yes, they cannot live alone... they need other hermies around.

Painted shells are cool, but when i get a hermie im just going to go with a pretty natural shell. Id rather not risk it dieing. The shells arent the only cute things about them yah know.
