  • haha I just finally realized what was going on in these credits after all these years. For some reason I never noticed Oscar throwing the cigar in the fountain.

and yeah, it'd just be easier if CBS Home Video just left everything intact.

  • @megamanj2004X: If you want to see them so badly, download those programs that let you create logos and re-create the old ones, then rip the Odd Couple DVD's and use video editing software to meld them together.

  • @Neville6000 - it's jut fun seeing older logos on TV for nonstalgic value and or a bit of scare factors on some of the logos' jingles. Paramount had some somewhat scary (nowdays, IMO) but nice closing jinlge music on their logos during the '70s and pre-late '80s.

  • @megamanj2004X: Since Paramount TV no longer exists (Paramount only is involved in TV as Epix now) it makes no sense to have the same old logos on DVD (the Mannix DVD's have the CBS Studios logos now.)

  • @vassephardi in and around midtown manhattan you can walk down almost any street and find a spot that was used in movies/tv/still photos - part of what makes nyc what it is.

go to 1049 park ave. and ask for felix or oscar, the doorman is asked this almost every day.

the opening/closing sequences for the show were almost all nyc locations as well as a few episodes - "new car", "decathlon" etc.

the location for this clip is the old columbus circle fountain in front of the old gulf/western hq.

  • @vassephardi only exterior scenes were shot in manhattan (nyc).

like most l.a. based sit-com's they would send a unit with the actors to "cover" certain scenes on location during the summer before full production began - these were edited in to the studio recordings.

this show had more of this in that era, would not be surprised if t.r. pushed for this.

  • @vassephardi Yes. Their son's full name is Adam Somers Klugman.

  • @wiedep That's one of the best things of this show:

It was filmed in real streets and spots.

I'm from Brooklyn and I've been to several of the spots in which this show was filmed.

Unlike other shows all filmed in a studio in California. These episodes were all in real life New York City.

    Good stuff here.

  • @vinylrecord68 Oh, I see. Thanks.

Is she the one Jack Klugman had his son with who actually played Oscar as a kid in a flash-back scene in one episode?
