Namgyal monks from the Dalai Lama's private monastery in Dharamsala, India, are currently visiting The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum to conduct the age-old ceremony which involves the creation and destruction of a traditional sand mandala, a ritual that remains true to one of the most profound tenets in Buddhism—impermanence.

  • Does anyone know the meaning of the blue trim on the shirt sleeves of Tibetan monks?

I mean why some of them have the blue trims on their sleeves and some don't?

I'm researching it for my work, so if anybody knows please tell me.

    Thank you so much
